Kusukuntla Prabhakar Reddy Is TRS Pick For Munugode Bypolls 2022 - Sakshi Post

MUNGODE BYPOLLS 2022: The Telangana Rashtra Samithi (TRS) has announced Kusukuntla Prabhakar Reddy as its candidate for the Munugode by-election to be held on November 3. TRS chief and Chief Minister K Chandrasekhar Rao (KCR) announced the name on Friday.

A former MLA he first won from Munugode in 2014 as  a TRS candidate. In 2018 Prabhakar Reddy lost to Komatireddy in the 2018 elections. He is currently the TRS Mungode Constituency Incharge, Koosukuntla Prabhakar Reddy was finalised as the candidate of the TRS party in the Munugodu by-election after taking into account the opinions and survey reports of local leaders, activists, district party leadership, and people of the constituency. They had arrived at the conclusion of choosing Kusukuntla Prabhakar Reddy, as he has been working as an activist since the party's inception and working closely with the people at the field level. It was earlier reported that the party had considered giving the ticket to a BC candidate and the name of former MP Boora Narsaiah Goud, had cropped up.

Prabhakar Reddy (56) joined Telangana Rashtra Samithi in 2002 along with his mentor Kallem Yadagiri Reddy. He fought for Telangana statehood, and was at the forefront during the agitation in Munugode for the statehood. He has a degree in sciences and also a BEd degree and is married to Aruna. The couple have a son and daughter.

The Election Commission of India on Monday announced the bypoll date and schedule for the Munugode Constituency in Nalgonda district in the state of Telangana. Polling will be held on November 3 and the results will be declared on the 6th. The notification for the bypolls will be issued on October 7.

Nominations will be taken up from October 14 and the last date for withdrawal for nominations is October 17. The counting of votes will take place on November 6, ECI stated in a release. Bypolls were necessitated after former Congress MLA Komatireddy Rajagopal Reddy resigned from the post and the party and joined BJP.
