April 14 Public Holiday: Schools, Banks, Offices Closed for Ambedkar Jayanti

All educational institutions across the Telugu states will remain closed on Monday, April 14, in observance of Dr. B.R. Ambedkar Jayanti, a public holiday. The day marks the birth anniversary of the architect of the Indian Constitution and is listed as an official holiday in both Andhra Pradesh and Telangana academic calendars.
As April 14 falls on a Monday, students benefit from a long weekend, with Sunday already being a regular weekly holiday. Alongside schools and colleges, banks across India and the stock markets (BSE and NSE) will also remain shut for the day.
The nationwide observance of Ambedkar Jayanti includes various government institutions and public sector operations remaining closed as a mark of respect. Citizens are advised to plan their academic, financial, and trading activities accordingly, as normal operations will resume on Tuesday, April 15.
