420 Manifesto Remark: Poll Code Violation Case Against KCR, Harish Rao

 - Sakshi Post

Hyderabad: Telangana Congress on Saturday filed a complaint with the Election Commission alleging that the Bharat Rashtra Samithi (BRS) chief and chief minister K Chandrasekhar Rao and finance minister T Harish Rao have violated the Model Code of Conduct during an election campaign.

In its complaint to the Chief Electoral Officer Vikas Raj, the Congress party claimed the BRS party leaders during their recent Praja Ashirwada Sabhas in Warangal made disparaging remarks against the party. While Harish Rao ridiculed the 42-page manifesto of Congress and dubbed it as ‘420- manifesto’. The Congress party added that this remark should also be considered as a poll code violation. AICC chief Mallikarjun Kharge had released party's manifesto titled 'Abhaya Hastam' on Friday.

It’s worth mentioning that recently BRS had approached the Elections Commission against the Telangana Congress chief Revanth Reddy. The legal cell head of the ruling BRS party Soma Bharat had met the CEO Vikas Raj and accused Reddy of repeatedly making provocative speeches and inciting the party workers to attack the BRS supporters. Soma had also sought a ban on Congress advertisement campaign titled ‘Marpu Kavali, Congress Ravali’ targetting the KCR party.
