BGT 2023: Pat Cummins Ruled Out Of 3rd Test, Australia Name New Captain

Border Gavaskar Trophy 2023: Australian skipper Pat Cummins will miss the third Test of the Border-Gavaskar Trophy against India, which is set to begin March 1 in Indore.

Cummins, who flew to Sydney after second Test defeat due to his mother's illness, was expected to return to India for the third Test, which begins on Wednesday. However, due to his mother's illness, Pat Cummins has confirmed that he will not be available for the Indore Test. Steve Smith will lead Australia for the 3rd Test.

Australia trail India 0-2 in the four-match series after crushing defeats in Nagpur and Delhi.

Mitchell Starc, who missed the first two Tests, is expected to be a direct replacement for Cummins in Indore.
