President Murmu to Attend State Funeral of Queen Elizabeth II on Monday
New Delhi: President Droupadi Murmu will attend the state funeral of Queen Elizabeth II and offer condolences on behalf of the Indian government, the Ministry of External Affairs announced on Wednesday.
President Murmu will visit London from September 17 to 19. Earlier, External Affairs Minister S Jaishankar visited the British High Commission here on September 12 to convey India's condolences.
“Queen Elizabeth II, the former head of state of the UK and Head of the Commonwealth of Nations passed away on 8 September. President Droupadi Murmu, Vice President Jagdeep Dhankhar and Prime Minister Narendra Modi have expressed condolences at the demise of Queen Elizabeth II. External Affairs Minister Dr S Jaishankar visited the British High Commission in New Delhi on 12 September to convey India's condolences. India also observed a day of national mourning on Sunday, 11 September," read the Ministry of External Affairs statement.

Queen Elizabeth II breathed her last at Balmoral Castle in Scotland on September 8. The state funeral for Queen Elizabeth II will be held at 11 a.m. on Monday, Sept. 19, at Westminster Abbey, Buckingham Palace in London.
President Murmu, Vice President Jagdeep Dhankhar and Prime Minister Narendra Modi have expressed condolences at her demise. The Indian government also observed one day of national mourning on September 11 as a mark of respect to Queen Elizabeth II.
