Smriti Irani Praises Bollywood Actor Sonu Sood For Helping Migrants Go Back Home

HYDERABAD: Union Minister Smriti Irani heaped praises on Bollywood actor Sonu Sood for helping the migrant workers who were stuck in Mumbai due to coronavirus lockdown to go back home. We all know that, Sonu Sood has arranged buses for scores of migrants who wanted to go to their hometowns and sponsored the travel and meal kits for them. He took permission from Karnataka and Maharastra governments to help migrant workers reach home.

The 46-year-old actor in a statement said that, "It was really moving for me to watch these migrants walking on roads including the little kids and old parents. I shall continue doing the same for other states as well to the best of my abilities." He also donated more than 1,500 PPE kits to doctors across Mumbai. Sonu is also feeding hundreds of underprivileged people who have lost their livelihood due to the coronavirus stimulated lockdown. 

Smriti Irani took to her Twitter and tweeted as " I’ve had the privilege of knowing you as a professional colleague for over 2 decades now Sonu Sood & celebrated your rise as an actor; but the kindness you have displayed in these challenging times makes me prouder still." Here is the tweet.

People from various states including Maharashtra, Uttar Pradesh, and Karnataka tweeted to the actor for help. He responded to each one of them through Twitter and assured them of his assistance. Ravi Kishan also took to his Twitter and tweeted in Hindi as, "Yehi sab yaad rehta hai duniya mein." Sonu Sood's noble deed has become the talk of the town and he got appreciation from all the quarters for his work.
