Navratri Day 8: Ashtami Tithi or Mahashtami Vrat is observed on the eighth day of Navratri. Goddess Mahagauri, Goddess Durga's eighth avatar, is honoured on this day. Goddess Mahagauri is the most extreme incarnation of Goddess Durga, who is a symbol of purity and serenity. She is also known as Vrisharudha since she is mounted on a bull.

Mahagauri Puja Vidhi

Maha Ashtami is one of Navratri's most important days. Mahasnan and Shodashopachar Puja are the first rituals performed.
