Tamil Nadu Local Body Polls: Despite having five family members, BJP candidate D Karthik received only one vote in a recent local body election in Tamil Nadu. He ran for a ward member position in the Periyanaickenpalayam union in the Coimbatore district. With the incident, his candidacy became a laughingstock, and the news quickly circulated through the media, with #Single_Vote_BJP trending on Twitter.

Meena Kandasamy, a writer and activist, tweeted, "BJP candidate gets only one vote in local body elections. Proud of the four other voters in his household who decided to vote for others."

"Five members are his family and this BJP candidate who contested for ward member post got one single vote in Coimbatore!" said one INC member, Ashok Kumar. This is how Tamil Nadu deals with the BJP.
