Saidabad rape and murder Case: 10 Lakh Reward Announced For Accused Whereabouts - Sakshi Post

Hyderabad Police have launched a manhunt for the accused Palakonda Raju who is wanted in the rape and murder case of a minor girl in Singareni colony at Saidabad. As per reports more than 15 special police teams comprising 70  task force policemen have been formed and are searching the city and surrounding districts of Yadadri Bhuvanagri, Warangal and Nalgonda to trace the accused.

The police have secured  CCTV footage from the area showing the accused wearing a cap and face mask and moving with another person suspected to be his friend. The police have intensified their search for them and are checking every major point in the city and in the districts.

Meanwhile, RTC MD VC Sajjanar alerted RTC employees to keep a watch on any suspicious persons, and posters of the accused have also been printed and shared in buses and bus stations.

Hyderabad Police Commissioner Anjani Kumar on Tuesday conducted a review meeting on the case and announced a reward of Rs 10 lakh for those who inform them about the accused location. It was clarified that the details of those who revealed the whereabouts of the accused will be kept confidential. Police have also released the details of the accused in this regard.

Tracing the accused has become a problem for the police as he is not carrying a cell phone with him to trace his movements. The identity of the second person is also yet to be ascertained. The accused family members who live in Yadadri Bhuvanagiri have been detained and are being questioned by the cops.

Though the State IT and Municipal Administration Minister KT Rama Rao on Sunday confirmed his arrest through a Tweet, he later corrected the tweet on Tuesday, citing misinformation, and regretted the error. He mentioned that the police launched a manhunt for tracing the accused.

On September 9, a day before the Ganesh festival the minor child who went missing was found dead in the accused’s house. The child was sexually assaulted and murdered by Raju who was her neighbour. A case under the POCSO act, rape and murder has been registered by the local police.
