Petrol Crosses ₹110 in Several Cities After Latest Fuel Hike

Petrol and diesel prices have increased sharply across India after oil companies announced a fresh fuel price hike. The latest increase has pushed petrol prices above ₹110 per litre in several cities, creating concern among vehicle owners and businesses.

According to reports, oil marketing companies raised petrol and diesel prices by around ₹3 per litre. This is the first major fuel price hike in nearly four years. Officials say the increase was necessary because global crude oil prices have gone up due to the ongoing West Asia crisis and supply disruptions.

After the latest revision, many cities are now witnessing petrol prices above ₹110 per litre. In several metro cities and states with higher local taxes, fuel prices have become even more expensive. Diesel prices have also increased significantly.

Reports also suggest that state-run oil companies have been facing huge losses by selling fuel below international market rates for a long time. Petroleum Minister Hardeep Singh Puri recently stated that fuel companies were losing large amounts daily, making a price revision unavoidable.

The rise in fuel prices is expected to affect transportation costs, delivery charges, and prices of essential goods in the coming weeks. Many consumers are worried that the increase could further impact household budgets and overall inflation.
