Wedding Trip Turns Tragic As Four Killed in Horrific Car Crash in Kakinada

Four people were killed and seven others injured in a horrific road accident in Kakinada district on Saturday (November 8). The tragedy occurred at Kirlampudi mandal, when a speeding car lost control and ploughed into a group of people waiting at a bus shelter along the national highway.

According to police reports, the car, carrying a wedding party returning to Jaggampet after the marriage ceremony in Annavaram, veered off the road after one of its front tyres burst. The vehicle rammed into the waiting commuters, instantly killing three of them and leaving six others injured. One individual reportedly died while undergoing treatment. It has been learnt that two of the injured are students. A few of the injured individuals are said to be in a critical condition.

In the chaos, the car also collided with a motorbike and an auto-rickshaw, adding to the damage and injuries.

All the injured were immediately shifted to a nearby hospital for treatment, while police have launched an investigation into the incident.

Authorities are verifying the identity of the victims and assessing whether over-speeding or negligence contributed to the crash.
