Five AP Police Officers Awarded Medal for Excellence 2021 in Investigation By Centre

Five police officers from Andhra Pradesh have received awards presented by the Union Ministry of Home Affairs in recognition of the Police force.  The Union Ministry of Home Affairs has released the 2021 list of awardees for the 'Union Home Minister’s Medal for Excellence in Investigation'. This year, it will be awarded to 152 police personnel serving across the country. 

Established in 2018, this honour aimed to encourage high standards in crime investigations and recognise the "Excellence in Investigation" delivered by police personnel in their work. In a statement, the Ministry of Home Affairs said: "The 'Union Home Minister’s Medal for Excellence in Investigation' for the year 2021 have been awarded to 152 Police personnel. This medal was constituted in 2018, with the objective to promote high professional standards of investigation of crime and to recognize such Excellence in Investigation by investigating officers."  The list includes 28 women Police officials.
