Five Women Charred to Death After Auto Catches Fire
SRI SATHYA SAI DISTRICT: In a tragic incident, five labourers were burnt alive and five others injured when an auto in which they were travelling caught fire after it came in contact with a high tension electric wire at Chillakondayapalle in Satya Sai district of Andhra Pradesh on Thursday morning. This tragic incident happened when they were heading to agricultural work. The auto burst into flames when it came in contact with the live wire and the five women who were sitting in front were caught unawares, while the other five managed to jump out of the auto and saved themselves while the auto was completely burnt down.
There were ten people along with the driver in the auto when the accident happened. The deceased were identified as residents of Guddam Pally and were from the same family. All the five of them were women who were identified as Ramulamma, Rathnamma, Kanthamma, Lakshmi Devi and Kumari who were in the age group of 25-35 years of age. The bodies were sent to Dharmavaram hospital for postmortem.

The Andhra Pradesh government has announced an ex gratia of Rs 10 lakhs to the family members of the deceased. Hindupur MP Gorantla Madhav and other district officials rushed to the spot.
