 - Sakshi Post

With the steady rise in the investments and operations of the Information Technology sector in Andhra Pradesh following the successful Global Investment Summit (GIS), the state government has turned its focus towards upskilling the human resource capital.

Even before the tech major Infosys begin its operations in the state, the Indian government-owned aerospace and defence electronics company Bharat Electronics Limited (BEL), Amazon Development Center, Randstad, Technotask, Tech Mahindra and other tech companies have started looking for the skilled workforce.

According to iTAAP (Information Technology Association of Andhra Pradesh), the IT companies located in Visakhapatnam will likely hire 2,000 people in the next two months to run their operations.

Speaking to Sakshi correspondent, Kona Sasidhar, the Secretary of IT Department said their department is coordinating with the AP Skill Development Centre to upskill the youth and make them job ready. He said the IT Department is now focusing on filling the skilled workforce gap in the information technology sector.
