AMARAVATI: The Indian Metrological Department (IMD) forecast heavy rains, thunderstorms, and hailstorms in coastal Andhra Pradesh and Godavari region for the coming three days from Friday to Sunday. This was mainly due to the trough and wind confluence, strong thunderstorms. 
The IMD said a cyclonic circulation from Bangladesh extended from the neighboring areas of Bangladesh to North Coastal Andhra through Odisha. As a result of this, light to moderate rains is possible at many places in South Coast, North Coast and Rayalaseema on Friday, Saturday, and Sunday.

The IMD in a report released on Thursday night that there is a possibility of heavy rains at one or two places in the south coast and north coast on Saturday. Srikakulam, Vizianagaram, Parvathipuram Manyam, Alluri Sitamaraju, Visakhapatnam, Konaseema, Kakinada, East Godavari, West Godavari, Eluru, Krishna, NTR, Guntur, Palnadu, Bapatla and Prakasam districts are expected to experience moderate to heavy rains. On Friday, Amaravati, Vijayawada, Tadepalli and other places in the capital region will have cloudy conditions with light rain in some places

It said light to moderate rains are expected across the state on Sunday. It said that there is a risk of thunder, lightning, and lightning at some places and gusty winds of 30 to 40 kilometers per hour with a maximum speed of 50 kilometers per hour. MD BR Ambedkar asked people to be vigilant for the coming three days. Officials of  Alluri Seetharama Raju district have suspended all boating activities at Gandiposamma ferry points.
