New Currency Notes Worth Over Rs 95 Lakh Seized In Himayatnagar

Hyderabad: Alert monitoring by the police is resulting in the capture and seizure of blackmoney in its new avatar all over the country. After apprehending Rs.4.07 crore from Bengaluru on Thursday, the city police here made a seizure of over Rs 95 lakh, in new currency notes of Rs 2000.
The money was seized from a cab during a vehicle checking drive in the city, police said on Friday. Five persons were seated in the car and upon suspicion, the vehicle was stopped at Himayatnagar for checking, the police said. During checking of the car, a total of amount of Rs 95,18,000 was found stashed in the bags, they said.
Those travelling in the car could not give a satisfactory reply about the cash and they were being questioned, police said, adding that the matter would be reported to Income Tax department for further investigations.
