Hyderabad: The police investigating Nayeem’s case were surprised to find nine children in the slain gangster’s house in Puppalaguda. Nayeem’s three children and one nephew were among the nine children, all of whom are below 10 years. It’s learnt that Nayeem had kept children with him with an objective of using them as human shield whenever he used to go out. He was always accompanied with four children and two women in his vehicle. Generally, police don’t pay much attention on vehicles boarded with women and children. Nayeem wanted to exploit this point.

However, the police officials are verifying if Nayeem wanted to use those children as human shield in case of an attack on him. The children have been sent to the State-run Homes for boys and girls.

A woman Farhana, believed to be Nayeem’s wife, informed police that they were children of their relatives. Nayeem’s three children and nephew were going to school while the other children were kept at home.

Meanwhile, another fact came to light that Nayeem literally bought other children from poor parents. The innocent children from mostly from tribal communities were spending days at Nayeem’s house without knowing that they would be part of human shield for him. Nayeem wanted to protect himself in case of attack using children as human shield. Police wouldn’t open fire if children were shielding him. This was the strategy of Nayeem.

As part of his safety precaution, Nayeem used to change cars for every 3-5 kilometers and drivers as well. Nobody knows which cell number Nayeem answers as the gangster had over 200 SIM cards.

Vanasthalipuram, Shamshabad, Narsingi

Nayeem believed to have spent his most of the underground life on the outskirts of Hyderabad. Particularly, Nayeem spent over 18 months at Narsingi, Alkapuri, and prior to this he stayed at Shamshabad for two years, according to police investigation.

After escaping from Nampally court premises in 2007, Nayeem was absconding and not caught until his death in the encounter. Police on Wednesday identified Siri Residency in KVR Ventures in Shamshambad. Nayeem bought this flat on his wife’s name a year ago.

Police are inquiring into the buying deal of the house at Shamshabad, where Nayeem stayed with his family, based on an electricity bill on the name of Farhana, believed to be Nayeem’s wife.

Nayeem stayed with his family here, said local residents. His three children studied in a local missionary school, said police officials. Over seven years, Nayeem changed his residences from Shamshabad to Vanasthalipuram to Alkapuri areas.
