“The Lunar Odyssey” - On the Fourth Lunar Orbit Manoeuvre...

As described by Astrophysicist Ch Kishore Kumar Former Asst. Director, BM Birla Planetarium - Sakshi Post

Friends... ISRO engineers performed the Fourth Lunar Orbit Manoeuvre on Chandrayaan-2 yesterday (30 August 2019) in a 19.25 minute operation whereby they have taken the spacecraft much closer to Moon. The procedure started at 6:18 PM.

This is the Fourth Lunar Burn ( or LBN #4 ).

Chandrayaan-2, now, orbits Moon in a 124 km x 164 km orbit that is almost equal to the planned size i.e., 126 km X 164 km.

Note that on 20 August, Chandrayaan-2 was in a 114 km X 18072 km orbit around the Moon & now its just 124 km x 164 km orbit i.e., the spacecraft was manoeuvred closer to Moon from thousands of kilometres ( at the farthest distance ) to intended 100 km mark.

The next Lunar bound orbit maneuver is scheduled on September 01, 2019 between 6:00 - 7:00 PM.
