Ajmer: An old beggar woman, who had over Rs 6 lakh in savings, had died six months back and donated her life’s savings to the temple nearest which she begged. She wanted her savings to be used for a noble cause and so the Temple priests decided to forward her savings to the families of the victims of the Pulwama terror attack.

The temple trustees decided to Donate the Rs 6.61 Lakh to the CM’s Relief fund, respecting her last wish. A bank draft with the money was handed over to the district collector.

Sandeep Gaur, a trustee of the temple committee, said the woman's life savings had been deposited in a bank.

"We have donated her savings to CM relief fund for CRPF soldiers who died in the terror attack," Gaur said.

Vishwa Mohan Sharma, Collector of Ajmer, said, "A woman had saved over 6 lakh rupees and it was her last wish that this should be used for a good cause. The custodians have handed the cheque to me. It is an appreciable gesture and hopefully, it will inspire more people to come forward and donate."

The recent days have seen help pour in from different sources to offer financial help, and it is these stories that warm up the heart.
