Even as the Supreme Court has set October 29 as the next date of hearing in the Ram Janmabhoomi case, the Vishwa Hindu Parishad’s (VHP) high-powered committee of religious leaders have said that they cannot wait for the Supreme Court’s verdict and urged the BJP government to pass a legislation in Parliament to build the Ram temple in Ayodhya.

VHP working president Alok Kumar said, this is the final battle for construction of a Ram temple in Ayodhya. The government should bring an ordinance for the construction of the temple and this should be done by the end of this year. Stating that the VHP has a lot of faith in the Judiciary over the indefinite delay in giving the verdict and even if the case is pending in court it would no way hinder the Government from making legislation.

To step up the movement, the VHP has decided to hold public meetings in each Parliamentary constituency across the country to raise public awareness in November. They also plan to meet all the MPs and urge them to make a law in the Parliament for the temple construction. As part of the Kumbh Mela which will be held between January 31 and February 1 in Allahabad, they plan to conduct a Dharma Sansad and decide the further of course of action to hasten the construction of the Ram temple.
