Mixed response to Chandrababu's land-pooling proposal

The farmers of 17 mandals in Guntur district are expressing apprehensions and strong resentment over TDP's land acquisition policy for construction of a new capital city. They refused outright to give their fertile land at any cost.

TDP supremo Chandrababu has summoned more than 100 farmers surrounding villages identified for capital to Hyderabad to a meeting. Villagers in Talluru mandal said that the TDP leaders were playing dirty politics and they have not brought the real farmers to the meeting. Many of them who attended the meeting are TDP activists, they alleged.
As part of his new strategy, Chandrababu reportedly decided to organise a trip of farmers to Singapore to convince them.
