Man Kills Wife, Buries Her Body In Front Yard Of Group House 

Vijayawada: A man had killed his wife and buried her body in the front yard of his house and made the world believe for two months that she eloped with her lover. The man was arrested on Sunday after he revealed the startling fact that he killed her and buried her body in their apartment in Vambe Colony in Ajit Singh Nagar in the city.

Durgaprasad and Mariamma alias Bujji were married for over 10 years and they have two daughters of nine and seven years of age. However, they had been quarreling for some time over an extra-marital affair of Mariamma. Sometime around two months ago, Durgaprasad left the children at his relatives' house and killed his wife at night by strangulating her. Then he dug a pit in the front yard of the group house saying he would plant saplings.

The man buried Mariamma's body the following night. When neighbors and relatives insisted on the whereabouts of his wife, he kept on saying she went to Gudivada or some other place. He told the children that their mother won't be coming back as she left them forever.

Finally, the woman's relatives complained the police expressing doubts over Durgaprasad. When the police took the man into custody and interrogated, he admitted to have killed her and buried her body in the front yard of the apartment.

The woman's body was exhumed from the spot and a post-mortem was being conducted at the time of posting this story.
