Man arrested for impregnating girl after promising to marry her

Hyderabad: Malkajgiri police on Wednesday arrested a man on the charges of cheating for impregnating a girl after alluring to marry her. Police registered a case against the accused and sent him for remand.

According to the details by the police, 29 year-old Mekala Sravan Kumar who is a resident of Chintal in Jeedimetla area was working as a promoter at a marketing company situated in Geethanagar for four years. After alluring her in the name of love, Kumar developed a relationship with the 22-year-old colleague who resides at Vaninagar. The girl became pregnant in the course of time.

However, Kumar started showing a cold shoulder to the girl and tried to marry another girl. The victim lodged a complaint with the police after all her pleas to marry had gone vain. She approached Malkajgiri police on Wednesday and lodged a complaint about the same. After booking case against Sravan Kumar, police sent him for remand
