Malladi Vishnu remanded to judicial custody till Jan 19

Vijayawada: Malladi Vishnu and his brother Malladi Srinivas have been remanded to judicial custody till January 19 in connection with the spurious liquor case on Friday. The Judge ordered Vishnu's remand after VIjayawada police produced the former MLA and Congress leader in the court earlier.

Earlier, doctors had administered medical tests on Vishnu and his brother Srinivas at the government hospital. The duo was later sent to Krishnalanka Police Station where the police collected their fingerprints.

Vishnu was arrested by SIT police after accused as No.9 in spurious liquor. Eight other family members were also accused in the case.

Five persons had died and 32 others were hospitalized after consuming the toxic liquor at Ex-MLA’s liquor shop Swarna Restaurant and Bar on December 7 in Vijayawada
