Labourer Killed, 2 Injured In Blast At Chemical Unit In Hyderabad

Hyderabad: A labourer was killed and two others injured following an explosion at a chemical unit on the city outskirts on Monday. The Hayath Nagar police said that mishap occurred at around 5am when there was a blast in a reactor at the unit, which is located at Abdullapurmet area.

"In the explosion, Shivchand B, 30, was killed on the spot, while two other labourers sustained injuries and have been admitted to a hospital. All of them are from Bihar," said Inspector J Narender Goud said. A police team reached the scene and was probing the incident.

Labourer Dies As Loos Soil Falls

In an another incident, a labourer died and another suffered injuries after loose soil fell on them when a base slab was being placed during the construction of a road under-bridge near Ferozeguda here, South Central Railway (SCR) said.

The two had been hired by a private contractor. Crane hit the slab which caused the soil to fall, a release from the SCR said. While one of the labourers died on the way to hospital, the other was undergoing treatment.
