Khammam: Couple’s Quarrel Turns Fatal For Daughter

Khammam: A quarrel between a couple proved fatal for their four-year-old daughter on Tuesday at Janakipuram village in Bonkal mandal, 40 kms from Khammam town.

According to the police, the couple , identified as Krishna and Nagamani, hail from Visakhapatnam in Andhra Pradesh. They came to Khammam district a few years ago to work in Subabul plantations. Later, they settled in Janakipuram village. Krishna and Nagamani have been frequently quarreling over petty issues.

On Tuesday evening, Krishna returned to his house after consuming liquor and picked up an argument with his wife. Krishna, in a fit of rage, thrashed his wife with Subabul stick. The blow proved fatal for his daughter Supriya who was sleeping in her mother's lap. She was rushed to hospital in Wyra mandal where doctors declared her brought dead. Following the incident, Krishna went into hiding. A case has been registered and the police launched a manhunt to arrest Krishna.
