Justice Subhashan Reddy is AP's new Lok Ayuktha

Justice (retired) Subhashan Reddy has been appointed as the Lok Ayuktha of Andhra Pradesh. A communiqué to this effect was issued from the Raj Bhavan today.

Justice (retired) Subhashan Reddy was earlier the chairman of the State Human Rights Commission. Before nominated to the HRC he was the Chief Justice of the Madras High Court and later transferred to the Kerala High Court.

 Born at Bagh Amberpet in Hyderabad Urban Taluk on March 2, 1943, he was educated at Sultan Bazar and Chadarghat High Schools in Hyderabad. He did his higher education from New Science College and Osmania University College of Science and did his law course from University College of Law, Osmania University.
 
After having enrolled as advocate  in 1966 he practice in all branches of law -- Constitutional, Civil, Criminal, Revenue and Taxation Laws. Later, he moved to the Supreme Court of India to practice law. He was appointed as Judge of the Andhra High Court on 25-11-1991 and was later elevated as Chief Justice of High Court of Judicature at Madras on 12-09-2001. Justice Subhshan Reddy was transferred to the High Court of Kerala on 21-11-2004 and was retired from judicial service on March 2, 2005.
