Jagan factor played major role in Cabinet rejig: Thackeray
It is the Jagan factor in Andhra Pradesh that made the Congress High Command accommodate more number of MPs in the recent Union Cabinet reshuffle, felt Shiva Sena supremo Bal Thackeray.
In order to check the increasing influence of Y S Jaganmohan Reddy, fondly called as Jagan by his fans and followers, the Congress has decided to dole out such huge number of Cabinet berths to Andhra Pradesh MPs, Thackeray said in his party organ Samna. The undue importance to a particular State clearly reflects the fact that Congress is worried about its prospects in that State, he said in the editorial.
Thackeray, however, opined that Chiranjeevi was taken into the Union Council of Ministers as he had merged his erstwhile PRP with the Congress. It is a give and take with regard to Chiranjeevi's inclusion into the Ministry, he said. Besides this, the Telangana factor too played a major role in the exercise, Thackeray said.
But all this is futile given the seriousness of the separate Telangana struggle and the infleunce wielded by Jagan, the Shiv Sena supremo felt.
