Plastics Park To Come Up In Ranga Reddy District

Hyderabad: Telangana Industries Minister KT Rama Rao announced here today the state government was planning to set up a plastics park in Thummaluru village in Ranga Reddy district. Speaking at the inaugural of IPLEX 2018, international plastics expo, he said the park would be developed in 110 acres and was expected to generate employment to about 5000 people.

KTR said that the plastics industry in the state had attracted Rs 1000 crore since 2917. He said it was providing direct employment to 2000 people and to several thousands indirectly. The government had already sanctioned Rs 25 crore for this project which is being utilised in creating basic infrastructure at the site. We could add another 50 acres in addition to 110 acres allotted for the plastics park, he said.

The minister said the state had issued guidelines for single use plastics and was keen to encourage reusable plastics and measures to encourage plastics waste management as well recycling for the future.
