Husband Adopts Novel Method To Kill Wife

East Godavari: To steer clear of controversy and avoid suspicion a husband adopted a novel method of injecting his wife with snake venom to kill her.

The accused, Moghala Saheb, of Yeditha village in Mandapeta mandal alleged that his wife Sheikh Shahida Begum (36) used to frequently quarrel with him on the pretext that he was having an extra-marital affair. He also alleged that after such quarrels Shahida used to stay at her mother's house for months together.

After one such instance of quarrel, Moghala Saheb planned to kill her. He procured venom from snake charmers. He administered it to her on October 22, through injection stating it is to treat her sickness. When she screamed following the injection, neighbours rushed her to a hospital where she was declared brought dead. However, he surrendered to the police on October 30 and confessed to his crime.

Moghala Saheb is married to Shahida Begum for 16 years and they are survived by two children.
