Harassed For Property By In-Laws, Woman Jumps From 5th Floor

New Delhi: A 35-year-old widow, who was allegedly being harassed by her in-laws, jumped off the fifth floor of an under-construction building in south Delhi's Kishangarh on Friday.

According to the police, Bhupendri Mehlawat lives in Kishangarh with her two children, Priya(17) and Deepanshu. She lost her husband Sanjeev in 2014. Since then Bhupendri was allegedly being harassed by her three sisters-in-law for property and money.

Feeling depressed, she jumped from the fifth floor of a building at 5.30pm. She was immediately shifted to the hospital where the doctors declared that her lower part of the body has been paralyzed. Currently, she is undergoing treatment in the hospital.

The police registered a case against her in-laws under relevant sections of the IPC.
