GoM wraps up meetings, to submit report on Dec 4 - Sakshi Post

After a marathon of meetings, the Group of Ministers (GoM), constituted to look into issues stemming from bifurcation has finalised its report on Telangana which will be submitted to the Cabinet on December 4.

Answering the barrage of media questions at Finance minister P Chidambaram's office, Home Minister and the Head of GoM, Sushilkumar Shinde, said that the final report will be submitted to the Union Cabinet for its consideration on December 4.

Shinde further ruled out having Rayala Telangana or Union Territory status for Hyderabad. Replying to a question asked by a reporter, he said that once formed, Telangana  state will have 10 districts with Hyderabad as capital.

When asked about the Telangana Bill, Shinde said it will take some time to finalise the bill.  He reiterated that the Bill will be introduced in the winter session of the parliament. The senior Congress member added that they were taking extra precautions to make sure that the Telangana bill is flawless and that even legal experts were consulted. He said that there were no issues over Hyderabad and Bhadrachalam. 
But according to sources, final decision has not been taken on the status of  Hyderabad and has been left at the discretion of the Centre.

Shinde also said that the final meeting of the GoM will take place on December 3 and last minute changes can be expected in the GoM report. He assured that all the problems, arising out of the division, will soon be addressed. He added that their intention was not to hurt anyone with the division.

Shinde also said that no discussion on Telangana will take place in today's Cabinet meeting.
