Gold, Cash, Property Documents Unearthed At Gajuwaka Sub-Registrar’s House

Vizag: A huge collection of gold ornaments weighing in kilos, cash in Rs2000 bundles and documents related to crores of rupees worth properties were unearthed at the house of the Gajuwaka sub-registrar Venkaiah Naidu in an ACB raid in Vizag on Monday.

The sub-registrar who was suspended for possessing Rs88,000 excess cash at his office in 2013 is said to have amassed properties worth nearly Rs100 crore. An ACB team led by DGP Thakur and DSPs Mahesh and Ramadevi raided the flat of Venkaiah on Monday. Another 15 teams are raiding his properties spread across AP and Telangana.

The cash, gold and property documents seized at his flat (No.501) in Sri Govindam apartment at Pandimetta in city is estimated to be worth Rs50 crore.

Simultaneous raids are being conducted at his properties in Tirupati, Rajamandry, Vijayawada and Hyderabad. Venkaiah has allegedly amassed wealth by helping land grabbers in registration in Vishakapatnam and Gajuwaka over the years. The raids which started early in the morning are likely to continue till night.
