GHMC Vows To Keep Hyderabad Clean; Introduces 150 Tippers

Hyderabad: As part the Greater Hyderabad Municipal Corporation's (GHMC) initiative to keep Hyderabad clean and also fall in line with the swachh campaign that centre and state are doing, 150 Swachh Tippers have been flagged off today at People's Plaza. Already 2,000 auto-trolleys are plying in the city to collect the garbage from the houses in the city. These will be added to existing fleet.

Speaking, after flagging off the new vehicles, Mayor Rammohan Bonthu said thanks to Swachh Tippers, the solid garbage collection has gone up from 3,500 metric tonnes to 4,900 metric tonnes. He mentioned this was a good sign in keeping the city and that the citizens are using the services rather dirtying their surroundings. He added that 350 more Swachh Tippers will soon be added in order to reach out to larger sections of the society.

The Swachh Tippers are divided into two sections wherein people put their wet and dry garbage in dedicated partitions. All the auto-trolleys will have GPS tracking system as well as public addressing system.
