Friends or foes?: TDP men attack BJP rath yatra - Sakshi Post

BJP and the TDP are alliance partners both at the Centre and in the State of Andhra Pradesh.

The BJP MLAs in the assembly behave more as an appendage of the TDP, but the TDP, it appears, does not seem look upon the BJP as its ally anymore in the state, more so in Anantapur district.

A BJP Rath Yatra was not just force-stopped, the rath was damaged, the banners and flexies were torn and the party activists were attacked. The incident happened in Kurlapalli village of Kanaganapalle mandal in Anantapur district on Wednesday evening.

The BJP activists had to run for cover and approach the police to help.

BJP leaders Vishnuvardhan Reddy and Ankal Reddy slammed the TDP and demanded that the police book non-bailable cases against the TDP workers. When the cops refused, they expressed their anger and said they would take the issue to the BJP High Command.
