Fire Breaks Out In Anupama Lodge At Shamshabad; Inmates Rescued

Shamshabad: A massive fire broke out at an eight-storied building on Wednesday morning at Shamshabad.

The fire erupted from the second floor of the building of Anupama Residency lodge around 5.45am and it spread like a wildfire and engulfed the whole building in minutes. However, over 50 people staying in the lodge were rescued by the firefighters. No major injuries were reported.

The firefighters rushed to the spot, rescued the people and doused the fire. Though the reason for the fire is still unknown, the police suspect that it could be a short circuit. Due to the fire, a huge amount of medicines and medical equipment kept inside the dispensary on the ground floor were damaged.

Locals claimed that the hotel did not have an emergency exit in case of fire break out. The building housed a doctor's clinic and ESI dispensary on the ground floor.
