Fear Of Not Getting New Currency Notes: Girl Commits Suicide

Muzaffarnagar: A 20-year-old girl in Uttar Pradesh committed suicide here on Monday as she feared that she might not get sufficient amount of new currency for her treatment in the wake of government's decision to demonetise Rs.500 and Rs.1000 notes.

Shabana, an ill health girl from Mujaffar Nagar of Shamli district took the extreme step by hanging at her house while her brother was in queue at a bank to get new notes. Mobin, Shabana's brother could not get new notes and he returned home. He found his sister dead and family members of the deceased said that she committed suicide with the fear that she could not get treatment.
