Once a upon time, actor JD Chakravarthy used to be the first choice to play the charming lover boy in romantic movies. He has worked in more than seven films across Telugu, Hindi, Tamil and Malayalam.

His career breakthrough in Telugu was 'Siva' which starred Nagarjuna in the lead role and directed by Ram Gopal Varma. Coincidentally, it was his debut film in Telugu. Later on, JD Chakravarthy became successful and delivered a countless hits right from Gulabi to Dubai Seenu.

At one point, JD Chakravarthy was the most sought after actor after Kamal Haasan in the film industry. His work was appreciated and applauded by everyone in the 90s. Many girls had a crush on him and some of the parents even thought of getting their girls married to JD Chakravarthy.

When JD was at the peak of his career, late actress Sridevi’s mother went to him with a marriage proposal asking him to marry Sridevi, as per a buzz doing the rounds on social media. Sridevi’s mother reportedly told him something like: 'You're a top actor after Kamal Haasan, marry my daughter (Sridevi).’ If this be true then we wonder why JD Chakravarthy rejected such a marriage proposal.

Sridevi is not just evergreen, but also a highly talented actress. Getting a proposal from her family was really a big thing. Why didn’t it work out between the two is best known to him. It could also be that Sridevi didn’t want to marry JD.
