Education Bandh Today Demanding Fee Regularization and Free KG to PG

Hyderabad: An education bandh has been called by student organizations on Thursday demanding the Telangana government to keep its promise to implement KG to PG free education in the state.
Students organizations Telangana Vidyarthi Vedika, All India Students Federation and Students Federation of India called for the closure of all educational institutions in support of their demand.
P. Sambashiva, State Secretary of SFI said that the major demands are to regulate fee hike in private schools, governmental educational institutions should be improved, the government should keep a tab on corporate sectors colleges and to implement chief minister KCR’s promise of KG to PG scheme.
“Although we have conducted peaceful protests and also supported parents protest against fee hike by schools but the government didn’t pay any heed. We want the demands to be implemented, hence we have taken the call for educational bandh,” said Sambashiva.
Most of the schools have declared a holiday on Thursday in view of bandh. Some CBSE and ICSE schools declared bandh in the morning. Schools that have holiday on Saturday will function due to today’s bandh.
