Fight For SCS: All Roads Lead to Delhi for YSRCP

Chittoor: The YSR Congress Party has intensified its efforts to gain Special Category Status (SCS) for the state of Andhra Pradesh. In a bid to pressurize the NDA government at the centre, the party has announced that they will stage a protest at Delhi's Jantar Mantar on March 5.

On Friday, the Jagan Mohan Reddy led party has staged protests at all the 13 district collectorates in the state. The YSRCP'S Delhi protest is gaining support from all sections in the districts. On the other side, the Congress party as well as the communist parties are also speaking out on this protest.

YSRCP Chief and Leader of Opposition YS Jagan Mohan Reddy has called on the party ranks for the fight for special status for Andhra Pradesh. With an intention to pressurize the BJP government, State General Secretary and Punganuru MLA Peddireddy Rama Chandra Reddy, Members of Parliament Mithun Reddy, Vara Prasad, MLA's Chevireddy Bhaskar Reddy, Narayana Swami, Desai Thippa Reddy, Chintala Rama Chandra Reddy, Sunil Kumar, Constituency Incharges Jangalapally Srinivasulu, Peddireddy Dwaraka Nath Reddy, Chandra Mouli, Adi Moolam, Beerendra Verma etc are travelling to Delhi to attend the protest.

It is learnt that 25 to 30 party workers from every constituency are travelling to Delhi. Among them, some have already travelled from Vijayawada by train, while MLAs and constituency in-charges have flown to the national capital by air.

Madanpalle MLA Desai Tippa Reddy and Rakesh Reddy of Palamaneru travelled to Delhi from Bengaluru. Over 250 other leaders from the district have begun their travel from their respective places like Prakasam, Bengaluru and Chittoor. State General Secretary Bhumana Karunakar Reddy is scheduled to fly to Delhi from Renigunta airport today.
