Deadline for Regularization of Illegal Water Connections Extended to September 30

Hyderabad: Hyderabad Metropolitan Water Supply and Sewerage Board (HMWSSB) has extended the last date for Voluntary Disclosure Scheme (VDS) for regularization of unauthorized water supply connections by a month till September 30.

The Water Board said that this would be the last resort for the people who have the unauthorized tap connections to get them regularized without any penalty.

The Board Managing Director Dana Kishore said a special drive would be conducted for fifteen days from September 1 to 15 to sanction new water connections and fixing meters to them as part of VDS.

He also said that there were 5,700 tap connections of 20mm without meters in GHMC limits and all the connections would be fixed with meters by the given deadline. As of now, the Board has collected nearly Rs.82 crore from the scheme, the official mentioned.
