According to the reports, the accused met the victim at a private hospital in Hyderabad through common friend.

"The accused told the victim to provide Rs 1.4 crore and give strategy inputs for his Kolkata-based company, which dealt in fertilisers and agricultural products. He offered 24% profit share to the victim," Inspector Manoj Kumar said to a daily.

According to reports, the accused also showcased the documents to make the victim believe and has also said that he had taken permission from the West Bengal government. The victim trusted him and had transferred the money in 2017.
