Extra-Marital Affair Drives TN Couple To Commit Suicide  

Annanagar, Tamil Nadu: A couple in an extra-marital relationship committed suicide after facing opposition from their relatives. Gopinath (31) son of Sankaralingam belonging to Reddiyar Perumal Gounder Colony in Salem district got involved with Rajeswari (33) from the same area. Gopinath came to Tyagadurgam in Villupuram district.

The couple rented a house in Annanagar posing as a husband and wife. On Wednesday, both Gopinath and Rajeswari committed suicide by consuming poison. The locals intimated the police who began a probe into the incident.

Meanwhile, Gopinath's wife complained to the Pallapatti Police Station that her husband had gone missing, while Rajeswari's husband had also lodged a similar complaint with the Alaghapuram police station.

Thus their extra-marital relationship came out into the open. They got acquainted with each other 5 months ago and became intimate. With family members on both sides opposing their relationship, they committed suicide.
