Secunderabad: Secunderabad Government Railway Police (GRP) arrested an IT employee on the charges of committing property offences at many railway stations around.

Later they found out that A Pavan (29) hailing from Palasa in Srikakulam district, had a degree in BSc computers and has worked in an IT company before he started to rob people to make his ends meet.

23.2 tolas of gold and 6 laptops were seized from his possession, said the Superintendent of police for GRP, Ashok Kumar.

Pavan was supposedly involved in thefts that took place at many different stations like Secunderabad railway station, Mahabubnagar, Kacheguda, Kurnool and Sullurupeta railway police station limits said Ashok Kumar.

Secunderabad GRP Inspector K Adi Reddy said that Pavan used to act as a commuter using the AC coaches. He then would scout the place, pick his victim and talk to them. He would wait for them to go to the bathroom and then steal them of their belongings. He later would get off at the next station with all the stolen goods.

Due to the increasing thefts in the AC compartments, the GRP has been on a look out for suspicious people lurking around the stations' premises and platforms. This helped them nab Pavan, who has been committing thefts of such kinds for over seven months now.
