Anantapur: Five Killed In Lorry-MiniVan Collision

Anantapur: In a tragic incident, five people were killed and nine others sustained serious injuries. The mishap took place at Erraguntapalli village in Tanakal mandal in Anantapur district. The incident occurred in the wee hours of Friday after a lorry and minivan crashed into each other.

The deceased are identified as Nagesh (32), Bharat (50), Khadar Basha (45), Mahabub Basha (45), Jayamma (45).

The injured were rushed to a nearby public hospital. However, with the doctors not being available at the time, the victims were then shifted to Kadiri area hospital and their condition is said to be critical. A protest was launched by the other victims at the Ananthapuram-Chennai highway against hospital staff negligence resulting in heavy traffic jam.

The police who were alerted by the locals reached the spot and examined the accident area. A case has been registered and the police are investigating.
