Sri Dharani Murder Case: Honour Killing Suspected - Sakshi Post

West Godavari: A young couple was brutally attacked in Guntupalli of West Godavari district on Sunday. New developments have surfaced in the case. Sri Dharani who along with Naveen visited the Bouda Aramala caves located near Kamavarapukota, died after suffering from serious injuries. Naveen, who also suffered injuries, survived.

In the post-mortem report of Sri Dharani, it was revealed that there was no sexual assault attempted on her. According to the report, she suffered from a massive injury on the head after being hit by a stick and the injury led to her death. Naveen, on the other hand, suffered injuries to the back of his head. The police are suspecting that the couple was attacked from behind.

The villagers from Naveen's native place are claiming that Sri Dharani's murder is a case of honour killing. They further alleged that the couple's relationship was opposed by the girl's family, hence they got her killed.

They also revealed that Sri Dharani's family had planned to get her married with her cousin soon but with the girl revealing her intention to marry Naveen, Sri Dharani's family hired goons to get her killed. The villagers also demanded the police to take Sri Dharani's family members into custody and interrogate them.

On the other hand, police are suspecting Naveen's involvement in the case. Naveen, who is being treated at the Eluru Government hospital gave seemingly incompatible answers during the police investigation due to which the police are considering him as a possible suspect.

During questioning, Naveen, at first said that he doesn't know Sri Dharani, later he changed his statement saying that they both went to the caves together and were attacked by some unknown assailants.

With him changing his statements every time, the police are investigating for the real facts. Three other suspects have also been detained and are being interrogated.
