Fire Breaks Out In Shah Ghouse Restaurant In Gachhi Bowli: 1 Dead, 9 Injured?

Hyderabad: A major fire broke out in Hyderabad's famous restaurant Shah Ghouse at Gachibowli. The incident took place around 1 pm on Friday. A 60-year-old woman died, while at least 9 others members were left with serious injuries.

According to the police, around 12:55 pm on Friday, one of the gas cylinders got leaked which resulted in a major fire in the kitchen. With the help of two fire engines from Madhapur fire station, the firefighters brought the fire under control. The injured were shifted to Apollo hospital for treatment and later to KIMS hospital.

People who got seriously injured were shifted to Apollo DRDO hospital in Chandrayanagutta. One of the hotel staffers, Santha Bai (50) died on Friday while undergoing treatment.

The locals found that a huge cloud of smoke emanating from the hotel and tried to rescue the injured but due to heavy smoke and flames, they were unable to help them. Immediately, the police came to the spot and broke the hotel doors, windows and glasses. Later they rescued the victims. The police seized 26 gas cylinders which weigh 19.5 kgs each.

Santha Bai and her son Raju (31) hail from Maharashtra and live in Hafeezpet, Hyderabad and work as laborers in the hotel. While Santha Bai died, Raju suffered serious burn injuries. Nihaj Ahmed (38), Sk. Saifullah (30), Sk. Muneer (21), Azharuddin Khan (19), Sk. Afiuullah (25), Moonis (25), Saifullah (23) and Sk. Tasleem suffered 30% burn injuries.

AMHO Bindu Bhargavi examined the hotel and later seized it since the incident happened due to the negligence of the hotel management.

Police collecting details from victims

However, while everyone was running for cover, Kumar, a food delivery boy from Uber Eats came to help the victims and sent them to the hospital. He earned the praise of bystanders and firefighters.
