Venkatagiri (Nellore): An extra-marital affair ended in tragedy and led to a woman's murder. The incident took place on Thursday at Yataluru forest area. The victim Razia was involved in an extra-marital relationship with Pujari Rambabu.

According to the police, the victim Razia alias Polamma from Nellore and Venkateswarlu from Sri Kalahasti fell in love with each other and got married nine years ago. Venkateswarlu works in a construction business in Sullurpet. The couple had three children. On October 11, she went to buy a new soap and didn't return.

Her family members searched for her and enquired about her whereabouts. The victim's mother Mastanamma filed a complaint that she had gone missing with the local police station on October 16. She told the police that she suspected the involvement of Pujari Rambabu.

The police filed a case and started the investigation. They searched for Rambabu who went absconding.

On October 18th, Rambabu surrendered to the police along with the local VRO. In the interrogation, he confessed to killing Razia and admitted to burying her. He said he had a physical relationship with the woman for 10 years and killed her for avoiding him after her marriage. Then he called her to Yataluru forest area. There, they both had an argument and an enraged Rambabu fatally hit Razia with a stone. Later, he buried her body.

Based on the details given by Rambabu, the police exhumed the body and sent it to the Nellore government hospital for postmortem. The police produced Rambabu before the court and later sent him to remand.
