Suspected ISI Spy Held in Nagpur

Nagpur: In a potential security breach, an alleged spy working for Pakistan's ISI and other countries was nabbed in a joint operation by Military Intelligence, Uttar Pradesh and Maharashtra police here on Monday.

He has been identified as a scientist Nishant Agrawal who is employed since four years in the sensitive technical research section of the BrahMos Missile Research Centre here. Following a tip-off, the police and other agencies carried out an early morning raid and arrested him. He is likely to be booked under the Official Secrets Act, sources said.

As per preliminary information, he was reportedly passing on certain classified and secret information to Pakistan and other countries. Further investigations are underway. Among other things, the BrahMos Missile Research Centre is involved in making certain critical components for the BrahMos missile, considered the world's fastest cruise missile which can be launched from land, ships, aircraft or submarines.
