Kadapa Murder: Arjun Reddy Killed Varalakshmi

YSR Kadapa: Velpucherla Manjula Devi, a resident of Beechuvaripalle in Vallore mandal in the district, filed a complaint with the district railway police on Saturday, accusing a person named Arjun Reddy of causing the death of her daughter Varalakshmi. According to a complaint received by the police, Manjula Devi and her late husband Pulla Reddy, who had two daughters, got married 31 years ago. One of the daughters, Varalakshmi, was pursuing Dentistry at the Government Dental College, which is in the premises of the Rajiv Gandhi Institute of Medical Sciences, Kadapa.

On June 18, Varalakshmi called her mother and informed her that she was visiting home that day. After Varalakshmi left the college campus taking necessary permission from Warden, she called back her mother to inform that she is staying back at the hostel and that she had cancelled her plans.

However, Varalakshmi met Arjun Reddy, who had promised to marry her that day. Later, Arjun called Varalakshmi to say he was already married and also threatened to kill her.

After narrating this episode to her mother, Varalakshmi allegedly committed suicide by lying on a railway track. The police identified her body two days later and informed the matter to Manjula Devi. Railway SI Raraju said a case has been registered and investigation is underway.
